It is such a healing book for those who experienced parents like this. She does a masterful job of steering away from blame to understanding why they may have treated their children like this. It doesn't take away from a painful childhood but adds a layer of balm to one's self-discovery. As I believe I chose my parents, I'm still exploring why! :)
