What kind of liquid do you use for smoothies? I know a lot of store-bought nut milks have a lot of "stuff" in them...

Hey Josh -- I use either homemade flax, oat, almond or cashew milk and water -- easy to blend (soak cashew or almonds 1st). When I squeeze the liquid with organic cotton nut bag or fine mesh screen, I save the remains for flax egg or extra moisture in vegan baking. If I don't have any "milk", I use water or tea base. I used to buy all of the organic milks -- they are mostly water and so wasteful with the tiny plastic caps. I'd rather make it at home.
