The most fascinating thing about being a Tarot reader.
Stranger to stranger, this is what shows up.

A new-ish Tarot reader recently asked, Who was your most interesting client around the world?
Everyone, I answered.
It’s the truest answer I could give, though I understood what she meant. The most known. A celebrity. Someone in power. Someone dazzling. Someone with the most fascinating story.
I’ve read many thousands of clients for 20+ years. In person and now virtual (voice only). Put in my 10,000+ hours of mastery, though I’ll never master the Tarot. I’ve read in all kinds of crazy places; picnic tables, event halls and salt caves, living rooms and my front seat when the power went out. Basements, saggy cafe couches and street fairs. Snooty colleges, gyms and patios. Restaurants, mountain overlooks and hair salons. My beautiful office with a view of the forest. You name the location — I was probably there.
Every one of those strangers fascinated me, even if it was an amazing read or one that left me crushed. I’ve read janitors, cops, celebrities and power brokers. I’ve read entrepreneurs, college kids, pastors and event planners. I’ve read minimum wage to many digit millionaires. You name the industry and I’ve probably read them.
I don’t care about the outside. Flash generally doesn’t impress me. Yet every one of them had a great story. Every one of them was a soul I was meant to meet. Every one of them has been forged by life, over and over again.
What I’ve learned from difficult clients.
I’ve had many difficult clients; those who demanded cold reads or criticized if I didn’t read fast enough or to their liking. They put me through my paces and quickly taught that it was MY frequency that invited them in. The skeptic in me brought skeptics to my table. The religious judge in me brought the religious judges. The shame in me brought the chiders and addicts.
I cleaned that up real fast. Actually, it took years but at least I recognized the connection. Got a mentor, without whom I never would have survived this industry. Learned that I could say No thank you. Not allowed back. If past lifetimes are true (jury is out), I’ve been a prostitute/madam/courtesan in many. This lifetime isn’t one of them. My boundaries are strong and I can’t be bought. I’m not a friend to my clients; I’m their reader. When we hang up, we return to our separate lives.
To be a healthy, successful reader/intuitive/psychic/healer, I had to learn to say NO, even more than YES. Then I had to say, I deserve to have amazing, generous clients who are very high vibe. My business began to shift to a much more balanced, enjoyable experience, though there can still be challenging reads within certain situations. The difference is that I leave without being berated or diminished — and I love and bless every one of my clients for helping my soul to expand.
I especially thank every one of those difficult clients — and wish I had made this quiz many years ago. Feel free to use it with your clients!
The most fascinating thing about being a reader is the TRUST.
A stranger will sit down, look me in the eye — or now, answer my FT audio call — and within minutes, reveal some of their deepest secrets. They don’t know anything about me. I don’t know anything about them, nor do I allow them to tell me much background. Yet they trust me, this stranger, with something they’ve carried for years. Since childhood. I’ve had clients tell me things that, according to them, they’ve never told another soul. Others have revealed a recent diagnosis or discoveries that they haven’t told their partner, if ever. Many reveal a soulmate that they had/have outside of their marriage or addict children that are well beyond, Everything’s fine, thank you. Very “successful” people will say how dead they feel inside, how stuck and anxious, how they just can’t break free. Many will be the born psychics/Tarot readers who haven’t allowed themselves the risky pleasure of doing the work they’ve always wanted to do — because they still listen to that immature, mentally ill or narcissistic parent, priest or old high school bully directing their steps, even if long dead.
If so, do yourself a favor and read this book.
One of the greatest honors I’ve ever experienced is the trust clients extend — that I will listen, hold their secrets and not ever reveal. I will help them have a moment of relief, perhaps for the very first time. And maybe, they will see themselves as the powerful divine being they are, trapped in the illusion of this video game and all of the personas we wrap around ourselves, believing they are true. They will see, as I hold their trust, that they deserve to happy. They deserve peace and their story deserves to be heard.
That’s why I remain a healthy Tarot reader after two decades. I haven’t grown tired of the stories — and the trust extended to me, one human to another.
