Spirit, flow
through summer fields
the numbering of our years . . .
and all our dewy wishes.
Spirit, flow
through our secret yearnings . . .
where we thirst
in the presence of angels.
Spirit, flow
in languid, lucid moments
our migration
from loneliest shelters.
Spirit, flow
through the myriad seeking . . .
reflecting an infinite answer.
And when the waters rise . . .
teach us to swim.
Spirit, flow
through the charring . . .
as we reach for the beauty that remains.
Spirit cast in shadow,
shine your light . . .
on the passageways of our days.
Give us courage
to gracefully merge . . .
with perfection.
The union of souls.
Spirit, flow
through the rusty truss
so that which is seized . . .
finds rest.
May the hidden unfold . . .
in the revelation
of kindness,
the rooted seeds exposed.
May the ever wanderer return home
to everlasting illumination.
Amen.
